What is Medicare Advantage?

Medicare Advantage Plans, sometimes called “Part C / MA Plans,” is an alternate to Original Medicare. It is offered by private companies approved by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).  If you join a Medicare Advantage Plan, you will still have Medicare as its a “bundled” plan that includes Part A, Part B and usually Part D.

Part A – Inpatient care in a hospital, Skilled nursing facility care, Nursing home care (inpatient care in a skilled nursing facility that’s not custodial or long-term care), Hospice care, and Home health care.

Part B – Clinical research, Ambulance services, Durable medical equipment (DME), Mental health, Inpatient, Outpatient, Partial hospitalization, and Limited outpatient prescription drugs

Part D – Prescription Drug Plan (PDP)
